Reiki is gentle and non-invasive, and yet can powerfully address any health issues an animal may face. Reiki has something to offer all animals from birds to horses and works safely alongside veterinary care. The healing energy of Reiki has many benefits for pets as well as their owners.
Benefits of Animal Reiki
- Alleviates anxiety, stress, nervousness and produces a deep state of peace
- Increases energy levels and overall well-being
- Speeds up healing after surgery, injury or trauma
- Relieves aches, pains, strains and allergies
- Addresses issues with the coat, skin, or feathers
- Helps pets through depression or bereavement
- Improves behavior problems and heals anxiety-related problems
- Eases the transition from life to death when physical healing is no longer possible
Reiki can be practiced with the animal present or from a distance. It can be done with hands on or with no direct contact at all if the animal is not comfortable with touch.

“I am so blessed to have Nancy come and work with Thomas, our 7 year-old turkey. His feet are sore and since she has been working with him he is like a new bird! More talkative, energetic and overall happy and comfortable! Thank you Nancy!!” –Robin Plourde owner of Whip City Animal Sanctuary in Westfield, MA.
”Nancy came to my farm to help some of my sanctuary horses with Reiki. Gracie, my semi feral horse, was my main focus because she had off and on minor lameness. When Nancy was there the horses and goats all liked to come over to see what was going on. Everyone seemed more relaxed. Gracie, Daisy and Sophie especially liked the Reiki. Gracie even touched Nancy with her nose and allowed Nancy to pet her. After Nancy’s visits Gracie was more comfortable and recovered from her lameness quicker than usual.” – Colleen Campbell owner of Heroes, Horses and Hounds in Sunderland, MA.
“With reiki, Nancy has significantly helped Ladd, an 18 year old morgan gelding new to our barn Ladd had to suddenly leave the only home he had known and his only and best equine buddy. They had been together since Ladd was a foal. Understandably anxious here in a new setting and with a new herd, he often paced inside and outside his stall. In the first session with Nancy, in 10 minutes, Ladd licked his lips and lowered his head and penis, all signs of relaxation and feeling safe. He had never done that before. It was remarkable. I was beginning to wonder if he had a penis. Since then, the results have not always been as dramatic, but Ladd continues to be more relaxed and happier in his new home.” – Emily Coleman, Fern Hill Farm, Shutesbury, MA
