Wouldn’t it be ideal if we lived in a stress free world?
Sadly, we don’t. In order to survive in this world we have to find ways of coping with stress so we can prevent it from damaging our health because the negative effects of stress can kill us!
Do you suffer from any of these common symptoms of stress in your body such as:
• Fast heartbeat
• Headaches
• Muscle tension
• Back pain
• Shallow breathing
• Sweaty palms
• Upset stomach, Nausea or Diarrhea
Or do you suffer emotionally and;
• Feel cranky and unable to deal with even small problems.
• Feel frustrated, lose your temper more often, and yell at others for no reason.
• Feel jumpy or tired all the time.
• Find it hard to focus on tasks.
• Worry too much about small things.
• Imagine that bad things are happening or about to happen.
When you ignore the symptoms of stress, acute stress becomes chronic and over time stress affects your:
Immune system– Chronic stress can make you more likely to get sick more often.
Heart– Stress is linked to high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, blood clots, arrhythmia, heart attack and heart failure.
Lungs– Stress can worsen symptoms of asthma and chronic pulmonary obstructive disorder.
Stomach– Stomach problems like Gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome are often caused by stress.
Reproductive Organs– Stress is linked to low fertility, erectile dysfunction, problems during pregnancy and painful menstrual periods.
Muscles/Joints– Constant tension from stress can lead to neck, shoulder and low back pain. Stress may also exacerbate rheumatoid arthritis.
Skin– Skin problems such as acne and psoriasis are made worse by stress.

“I have taken yoga with Nancy Paglia for nearly 20 years. (So beware! It can be addictive!) Spending just an hour and a half once a week in gentle but challenging stretches and guided relaxation has become an integral part of my well-being. The physical benefits are perhaps most obvious: As I near 70, I’ve been able to maintain good posture, flexibility, and balance, and to restore full use of my arm after shoulder surgery. But the emotional benefits have also been huge: Yoga kept me relatively sane during my children’s teenage years. It has sustained me during periods of loss and grief, and continues to counteract the stresses of daily life. For me, Nancy’s class is just the right mix of physical challenge and meditative calm.” Nancy Wilson
